Overview

BP employees, dealers and jobbers began the community scholarship program in 1987 as a way to invest in the success of youth in neighborhoods where they operate businesses. Since its inception 21 years ago, the scholarship program has provided over $4.7 million in scholarships to nearly 3,300 promising students.

In 2008, BP will continue its community investment through the BP Community Scholarship Program in New York and New Jersey. Judges select a diverse group of students to receive scholarships based on personal essays, academic performance, extracurricular activities, work experience, individual goals and demonstrated financial need.

BP's corporate contribution pays for administration and promotion of the scholarship program in addition to funding scholarships. Charitable events run by BP employees and dealers raise additional funds for BP Community Scholarships. Donations also are accepted on this website, www.bpscholarships.org (click on "Donations") or can be sent directly to: CMS Foundation, 700 West 5th Avenue, Naperville, IL 60563. CMS Foundation is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization.

BP is pleased to support this scholarship program - investing in the future of communities where we operate by encouraging local high school seniors to pursue their dreams of going to college.
